We provide 4 cubic yard and 6 cubic yard skips.

You can get around 35 to 40 black bags in the 4 yard and 65 to 70 in the 6 yard skip.

You can put general waste in the skip such as rubble, garden waste, soil and household rubbish.

You cannot put paint, plasterboard, TV’s, fridge/freezers, asbestos, tyres, hazardous waste or chemicals, fluorescent tubes and batteries to name but a few. It’s always best check with us first to see if it is allowed in the skip.

You cannot put any hazardous waste into the skips. Anything hazardous nature should be disposed of carefully with the right procedure. If you are unsure of how to dispose of any hazardous waste you need to contact your local council.

You will need a permit from your local council only if it is going to be kept on the public highway or verge. Your local council will charge a fee for this. To obtain a permit please ask us and we will be happy to organise this for you although we will need two to three days notice.

Yes there are; you will need to illuminate the skip and in some cases mark out with cones. We can ensure that you comply with regulations by providing the appropriate equipment, again please ask and we will help out.

Generally for domestic use customers keep the skips for one to two weekends.
Builders can turn them around in a day or so but are sometimes left long term as a waste disposal service on large projects. There is no extra charge for a longer rental period although it’s best to inform us if this is the case.

An important issue that often gets overlooked is that by law we cannot drive on the road with a skip that is loaded above the level line. We will ask you to ensure that all skips are loaded level with the top of the skip only as we can be prosecuted for driving on the highway with skips that are overloaded.

Your drive needs to be at least 3 metres wide for a normal truck with a 9 cubic metre skip bin (allow wider access if necessary for a larger truck). You should also ensure there are no low hanging trees, power lines or the like, that may hinder the access and placement of the container at time of delivery.

You are legally responsible for the contents of the skip you hire. You need to ensure that the waste disposed in the skip is suitable for general disposal and that the skip is not overloaded. If you are sharing a skip with a neighbour, you will also need to ensure that their waste is suitable.
